CAD / OnShape. During this course, I used OnShape for making my CAD designs. OnShape is almost identical to SolidWorks, except it works in the Cloud, has improved version control for teamwork, shortens the learning curve, has more intiutie assembly design, and much more.
Laser Cutting. In the class, I used an Epilogue brand laser cutter to make a construction kit and characterized different laser parameters (power, speed, kerf, etc.). Now, I have become much more comfortable using laser cutters than before!
Electronics Design in Eagle. For electronics week, I learned how to design and export files to use for milling electronics boards with multiple different mills (most commonly, the Roland SRM-20).
3D Printing & Cartridge Maintenance. For the final project, I strengthened my 3D printing skills by learning how to export .STL files to different GCode file types to use 3 different types of Sindoh printers. I also learned how to remove the cartridges to change the PLA filament on the printers.
User Interfaces. For networking and app programming week, I learned how to make a web app and a Processing software user interface for input and output devices. By using an ESP32 (wifi and bluetooth enabled) microcontroller for my electronics designs, I was able to make it possible to create a the web app with a website URL and connect it to my board.
