"The Coffin Assembly Set": A morbid take on the classic IKEA assembly set, this small set of pieces can be put together to create a your own custom coffin just the way you always imagined it. The kit is designed as a way for people to come to terms with their mortality: it forces them to confront the inevitability of death and consider their own final resting place. This product would provide some much-needed levity in the face of our fear of dying. This caption was written with an AI system.

The reason why IKEA is so popular can arguably be linked to their cheap price which makes great design available to the masses. By having customers assemble their own coffin themselves, like IKEA, labor costs can be reduced and hence the product's price. The funeral market is an unexplored (yet ripe) market: its a win-win! To give my "product" some artistic flair (and more importantly, to figure out what the assembly set might do) I generated a description of the assembly set using the large language model GPT-3 (See image below).

Most of the time was then spent in Fusion 360 designing the parts and previewing the 3d model to make sure it all fit together.

After the print, I took the bad boy to the studio for some money shots.
